Cornhusker State

Nebraska is one of the mid west states and has more miles of river than any other US state. Nebraska is home to one of the “Wonders of the West”, Chimney Rock, which has been honoured as a National Historic Site. Rodeos, historical tours, fishing, kayaking or canoeing, tubing, golfing, community events and festivals are some of the many things you can enjoy living in this state.

Nebraska is a major grain-producer with bumper crops of sorghum, corn and wheat. More varieties of grass grow in this state than in any other. The state's sizable cattle and hog industries make Dakota City and Lexington among the nation's largest meat-packing centers. Manufacturing in Nebraska is diversified with firms making electronic components, auto accessories and pharmaceuticals. The manufacturing of mobile homes has joined older industries such as the manufacturing of clothing, farm machinery, chemicals and transportation equipment. Oil was discovered in 1939 and natural gas in 1949.
